Nanoscale Compositional and Mechanical Alterations of Bone Tissue at Peri-Lacunar Regions in Type-1 Diabetic Postmenopausal Women

Investigated peri-lacunar bone quality in postmenopausal women with Type 1 diabetes using AFM-IR spectroscopy and nanoindentation. Results showed reduced modulus and hardness with altered nanoscale mineral organization, helping explain fracture risk beyond bone mineral density.

Microscale Characterization of Additively Manufactured Nickel Aluminum Bronze

Designed and implemented experimental methods (SEM/EDX, nanoindentation, microhardness mapping) to compare AM NAB with cast counterparts - results showed improved hardness and modulus for additively manufactured NAB aimed at maritime applications.

Nanoscale Changes in Bone Composition and Mechanics poster

Nanoscale Changes in Bone Composition & Mechanics at Peri-Lacunar Regions

Developed nanoscale workflows combining LSM, AFM-IR, and nanoindentation to study bone fragility in postmenopausal women with Type 1 diabetes. Findings highlight nanoscale compositional and mechanical changes linked to osteocyte microenvironments.
